About Us

We, at Cliff & Cove, are a travel-loving group of four friends based in the southwest of the Dominican Republic. Jess and Bos have been living in the country since 2015, the bulk of their time has been spent in the province of Barahona. Rusty and I (Syd) moved to the area just a couple of years later, in 2017. We quickly became friends after meeting in a local park that summer. 

After spending years exploring and seeing the beauty and potential for adventure that is tucked away in the southwestern tip of the country, we decided it was time to start sharing our treasured home with the world. Unfortunately, it is often difficult to find accurate and up-to-date information about travel and excursions in the area. For this reason, Cliff and Cove was born. 

At Cliff & Cove, we are dedicated to providing the most up-to-date and accurate information about the Dominican Republic’s treasured tropical southern region - where to go, when to go, how to get there, and everything in between. We are travel bloggers writing for those looking for their next adventure, for those who aren’t afraid to try something new, and for those who don’t feel like they’ve truly traveled until they’ve experienced the local culture. 

Collectively, we have traveled to nearly 30 countries. We’ve packed and unpacked suitcases and backpacks, made itineraries, navigated railways, tried new foods, found ways to communicate when there was no common language, learned to be respectful of local culture, and found ways to enjoy nature and treat it kindly simultaneously. It’s our goal to use this experience in order to give you the best tips and advice for your next trip. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or you are new to the game, Cliff & Cove is here to travel with you.
